“Westfields FC were formed by me and my pale in 1966 as a group of 16 year old lads who were in awe of England winning the World Cup We started playing friendly games and raised money by holding Whist Drives , skittle roll ups and jumble sales to raise money to buy a set of kit .

We chose the West Ham United kit in respect to World Cup hero’s Bobby Moore Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters and 51 years later we still wear the same colours and purchase our kit now through Pendle Sportswear who have supplied our kit and training gear for over 25 years.

During the 52 years we have progressed up the football pyramid from a parks team to a club at step 5 and members of the midland league and a reserve team and 10 junior teams . In our 50th anniversary season 2016/17 we reached the 1st round proper of the FA Cup having played in 8 FA Cup ties and appeared on match of the day wearing our Pendle kit before being knocked out in a replay at Curzon Ashton. Furthermore I as secretary of over 50 years was invited to FA Cup Final At Wembley to sing with the choir and attended and sang wearing the Westfields Pendle shirt in front of 30 million TV viewers.

This was a great honnor for me and the club and we appreciated the FA inviting us to celebrate our 50 years and our epic FA Cup run that season. This year we are again in the FA Cup And FA Vase and will be doing our utmost to win the midland football league premier division. The last 52 years have been a remarkable journey with highs and lows but we could not believe our 50th anniversary year with TV and Wembley appearances for a club started in 1966 by a group of excited school pals in awe of England Winning the World Cup.”
