Personalised Digital Asset Pack
You’ve gone to the effort of getting your club shop set up, so you want to make sure as many people use it as possible. It needs to be easy for players, parents and supporters to find the shop, so you want it to be visible. That way, everyone knows where to go to order new kit, training wear or club merchandise. Not sure how to do this? Then check out our handy step-by-step guide. It’s full of advice for your club, and has details about how to request a free personalised pack of digital and physical promotional material.
Step 1. Add Your Club Shop Link
The first and most important step is to add a link on your club website. This will make it easy to find your club shop. You can add a text link in the content on your homepage, add it to your main navigation, or add a prominent button to your site. Finding the right choice will depend on your website platform, the layout, and your technical skill level. However, all major platforms should offer details on how to add links to your site.
Don’t have a club website? No problem. Add the link to your social media profiles instead. The basic idea is that there’s a link available on the page most associated with your club. That way people can access your shop without having to hunt for a link.
It’s also worth sharing the link in your team group chats on WhatsApp or Messenger. Alternatively, you can send it via email if you have the necessary details. It only takes a few seconds to send the link, and it means people always have it available when they need it.
Once that’s sorted, you’re ready to start promoting.
Step 2. Request Your Club Shop Asset Pack
Now it’s time to get your promotional materials ready. Our Club Shop Asset Pack is a great resource for clubs that don’t have the time, resources, or confidence to create their own graphics. It includes four ready-to-go personalised assets that include both digital and physical options. These will all be created using your club badge and colours. We’ll also include a QR code that takes people straight to your club shop.
You’ll get:
- Club Shop website banner for your website
- Club shop social media post to share with your followers
- Club shop flyer you can print and display around the club
- Large banner for bigger displays and club events
All you have to do is leave your details at the link provided below. We’ll then get your asset pack ready and will send the finished files over. Then you can share the digital elements immediately and get the physical elements printed as necessary. It’s a free resource for busy clubs run by volunteers, so what’s stopping you?
Step 3. Add Your Website Banner
Your club website is one of the best places to promote your shop because it’s already a hub for club information. A text link is a great way to get people to your shop, but a banner will be more engaging. You want something that will stand out and draw the eye. The easier a link is to see, the more people will use it.
Add your Club Shop website banner somewhere prominent and link it directly to your online shop. Your homepage is a great place to start, but you can also use it on team pages, club news pages or anywhere else your website visitors regularly visit. Again, this will all depend on your website platform, the layout, and your skill level. You should be able to find instructions on how to do this for your relevant platform.
Step 4. Get Social
Social media is a great way for updating players and fans on club news. So, we’ve included a simple and clear social media post graphic in your asset pack. This will help get your shop in front of your followers. The post is 1080 x 1350 pixels, which makes it perfect for sharing on both Instagram and Facebook.
Share the graphic when your shop first goes live, but don’t stop there. Social media moves quickly, so a post can easily be missed. Try posting about your shop regularly, particularly around the start of a season, when new players join or when new products are added. You could even post just before the Christmas holidays to promote your club shop products as gift ideas for Christmas.
Step 5. Use Your Club Shop Flyer
Digital promotion is great, but don’t forget about more traditional methods. Physical promotional materials are great to have around, especially because they include a QR code to scan. Your Club shop flyer can be printed and displayed around your clubhouse, changing rooms, noticeboards and other areas where players and parents will see it. It’s particularly useful at registration days, presentation evenings and the start of a new season, when people are already thinking about club kit.
As well as pinning them up in the clubhouse, why not hand them out individually to parents and players as part of a registration starter pack? Or, hand them out to players on the first training session of the season.
Step 6. Put Your Large Banner to Work
If you have somewhere suitable for a larger display, the large banner from the asset pack gives you another way to promote the shop. Use a local printing company to print out a heavy-duty vinyl banner with eyelets that can be easily hung up on fencing somewhere around your ground.
Think about where people naturally gather at your club. A clubhouse, entrance area or pitch-side location could all be good places. A larger banner like this could be even more noticeable and memorable for people passing by.
Step 7. Keep Reminding People
The most important thing to remember? Don’t post your shop link once and then forget about it. If you want people to use your club shop, you need to keep reminding them about it.
Your players, parents and supporters are busy, so there’s a good chance people won’t see all of your posts. Regular reminders keep your shop front of mind without needing a huge amount of effort.
You could:
- Include the shop link in your weekly club posts
- Mention it alongside team photos
- Share it when new kit or training wear arrives
- Include it in your matchday posts
- Remind new players and parents in WhatsApp groups
- Include a link in club email newsletters
