Indoor Football Activities – Indoor Football Games

Don’t worry, we’re not trying to encourage your children to start a kickabout with their favourite Pendle footballs in the house. Instead, we’ve come up with a few suggestions for how they can get their football fix while they’re stuck inside.

Be creative

1. Blow Football

This is a fun game that definitely won’t cause any damage and is really easy to set up. You’ll probably already have everything you need at home.

Drinking straws

What you’ll need:

  • 2 straws
  • 2 pieces of paper/card
  • Scissors
  • A pen
  • A ruler
  • Some foil

How to:

  1. Fold a piece of paper in half.
  2. Make a fold along each end of the paper so the goal will stand up.
  3. Mark out your goal on one half of the paper. Cut out the middle.
  4. Do the same thing on the other piece of paper.
  5. Scrunch the extra paper into a ball and cover in tin foil.
  6. Set up your goals on either side of a table and start playing.

Make your own stadium

You can play this game on a normal tabletop but you could also take inspiration from our DIY table football and turn an old shoebox into a stadium. Get your children to decorate it however they want.

2. Finger Puppet Football

This is another great little game that gives your kids something creative to do as well.

If you wanted to, you could make your own goals and draw out a football pitch on a piece of green paper.

3. Penalty Game

This is another great tabletop game that you can make with your children. You’re basically creating a form of catapult using elastic bands that will shoot your ball towards a goal. It’s a lot of fun.

Method

The method for this game is a little more complicated. We’ve found a great tutorial online that is easy to follow and has a handy video guide. Or there is a slightly simpler version in this YouTube video.
